SHINY SHOES ( teen punk rock ala Gwen Stefani)
(Written By: Andy Jones)
Shiny Shoes
I take a trip to the city centre
And we watch the people coming out to play
Someone’s crying and someone’s denying
That they looked at his girl in any way
There’s a club with two doormen
Folded arms they’re shaking their heads
A guy’s pleading
But they’re repeating
With no shiny shoes you’re not coming in
Without shiny shoes you’re not coming in
And so the night lingers on
We watch the cabaret
Enjoyed by many for so long
You can see it every single Saturday
I see a boy; he kicks another boy
In designer clothes so that’s OK
So when the victim looks in the mirror
He’ll see the finest logos around today
And there stand our friendly doormen
Folded arms still shaking their heads
To the pleading
They’re repeating
With no designer shirt you’re not coming in
With no designer shirt you’re not coming in
We go up to the friendly doormen
They look us up and down shaking their heads
We start pleading
They start repeating
With no shiny shoes you’re not coming in
With no shiny shoes you’re not coming in
